GOALS.

The home is dedicated to provide the orphans with the following:

1. Basic needs
2. Health care
3. Education
4. Training
5. Spiritual counseling

So that they can fit in the society when they become self reliant.

OBJECTIVES

Dorcas children home [DCH] is serving as God's instrument as shown in the BIBLE ACTS 9:36-39 and JAMES 1:6-7

1. That is and will endeavor to extend God's compassion to the orphans by providing food, clothes, housing and health care.
2. To develop them and enable them to realize their full potentialities and make them enjoy normal life just like any other human beings by counseling, education and spiritual guidance.
3. The home shall continue to integrate more orphans from the community for protection and development.
4. The home is a tool of evangelizing and discipling Muslim community since all the children have Muslim background.

ACHIEVEMENTS

So far we have realized the following achievements:

1. Number of born again Christian increasing,

2. Children have gone back to school and those who had never been to school are now going to school.
3. Their health has been improving
4. Their social life has improved since those who were street boys, sexual abused have reformed.
5. They now have a shelter where they are accommodated
6. We have few friends and local community based organizations which have helped us through support of food supplements and clothes.

Reverend Morris Mwarandu of Lords Gathering Centre Nairobi is distributing clothes and food supplements to the Dorcas Childrens Home the year 2007.

7. We have developed a small farm where we have been able to produce maize, sweet potatoes and vegetables towards helping us in sustaining the children.

During holidays and weekends children may be involved in such activities such farming as shown above.

8. Three children have joined high school, Boy Bavu, He is in form three, Christine Kazungu form one, and Nadzua Bavu form one in 2008.
9. Some of the children have received sponsorship from different organisations which cater for school fees only both in primary and high school.
10. The home have been given a plot about three acres by a christian organisation called Youth With A Mission. In the plot there is a building measuring 60 feet by 45 feet. The house needs renovation because the roof doors and windows were stolen and the wall and the floor started cracking. When this house is renovated t can accomodate more than 50 orphans.

OUR CHALLENGES

1. Kinango district is in a semi arid area with unreliable rainfall which makes it very difficult to grow crops and get good harvest. This makes us rely on buying food at very high prices.
2. We need funds to pay for the children education and upkeep.
3. We need funds to buy food and medicine for the children care
4. We need funds to buy a water tank which will help us during draught season.

Nonetheless, we take these challenges not as barriers to this noble ministry but opportunity to pray and share with brethrens and sisters towards coming up with common agenda in helping these needy children.
